Discord Shop items explained: decorations, effects, nameplates, frames and bundles

The Discord Shop sells a few kinds of items. They all change how you look on Discord, but each one shows up in a different place. Here's a quick tour.

Avatar decorations

An avatar decoration is a frame or animation around your profile picture. It shows almost everywhere your avatar does: in chat, in member lists and on your profile.

Profile effects

A profile effect is an animation that plays over your profile card when someone opens it. Think falling leaves, sparkles or flying crows.

Nameplates

A nameplate adds artwork behind your name in the member list of a server. It's a small touch that people notice every time they scroll past.

Profile frames

A profile frame adds art around the edge of your profile. It's one of the newest kinds of Discord Shop item.

Bundles

A bundle groups several items from the same collection, often a decoration, an effect and a nameplate, for less than buying them one by one.

A bundle comes as a single gift link. Claim it once and every item in the bundle is yours.

Do I need Nitro?

No. Anyone can own and use Discord Shop items, with or without Nitro. Nitro members just get a lower price in Discord's own shop. On CheapCord, the price is lower than Discord's for everyone.

How do I put an item on my profile?

After you claim your gift link, open User Settings, go to Profiles and pick the item under Avatar Decoration, Profile Effect, Nameplate or Profile Frame. Our claiming guide has the details.
