How to pay with crypto: a simple guide for first-timers

Paying with crypto sounds hard. It isn't. If you can send a text message, you can do this. This guide walks you through your first payment on CheapCord, start to finish.

Short version: get a little crypto in an exchange app, pick a coin on your order page, send the exact amount it shows, and wait a few minutes.

What you need

• An exchange app, such as Coinbase, Kraken or Binance. This is where you buy crypto.
• A few minutes for the app to check your ID the first time (most apps ask for this by law).
• Your email address, so we can send your gift link.

You don't need a CheapCord account to buy. You only need an email.

Step 1: Get some crypto

Open your exchange app, add money, and buy the coin you want to pay with. Buy a little more than the total on your order page: our 2% processing fee is included in the amount shown, and your exchange may charge a small fee to send.

Step 2: Pick a coin with low fees

Every crypto network charges a fee to move coins, and your exchange takes it when you send. For small orders, that matters. Some coins cost a few cents to send, others can cost a few dollars. (This is separate from our own fee, which is a flat 2% and shown before you pay.)

Good choices for small orders:

• USDT on Tron (TRC20): a digital dollar, cheap to send
• Litecoin (LTC): fast and cheap
• Solana (SOL): very cheap fees
• USDT or USDC on Polygon: digital dollars with tiny fees

Bitcoin and Ethereum work too, but their fees can be higher than the price of a decoration. Save them for big orders.

Step 3: Check out on CheapCord

1. Add your item to the cart.
2. Type your email address.
3. Choose Pay with Crypto and press Pay.

You land on your order page. Nothing opens in a new tab. Search or scroll the list of coins, pick yours, and choose the network if the coin has more than one. Press Continue.

The page then shows three things: the exact amount, the address to send it to, and a QR code you can scan from a wallet app. The amount already includes our 2% processing fee. There is no extra fixed charge, so small orders stay cheap.

Step 4: Send the exact amount

1. In your exchange app, find Send or Withdraw.
2. Choose the same coin.
3. Paste the address from the payment page.
4. Pick the same network the payment page shows (for example TRC20 for USDT on Tron).
5. Type the exact amount and send.

Important: the network must match. If the payment page says USDT on Tron (TRC20), send it on TRC20. Sending on a different network can lose the coins.

Step 5: Wait a few minutes

Crypto payments need a few confirmations from the network. Most take a few minutes. Your order page updates on its own, and we email you when it's done, so you can close the tab if you like.

Once the payment confirms, we buy your item and email your official Discord gift link, usually within a few minutes. Then you just claim it in Discord.

Common questions

I sent a little too little. What now? A payment up to 2% short still counts. If it's further off, your order page shows what's missing. If you get stuck, message support with your order number (it starts with CC-) and we'll sort it out.

What does it cost? A flat 2% processing fee, with nothing added on top, so it's lower than before on small orders. Your exchange may also charge to send coins. Binance Pay and your CheapCord balance have no fee at all.

Will anyone ask for my exchange password? No. You never type your exchange login on our site. You only send coins to the address shown.
